Book Reviews

We loved this book. Even though our daughter is only 2, she still attends daycare, which can be similar to starting school. She definitely has a hard time at drop off, and I love that this book has that same perspective and defines it as anxiety rather than pointing the finger and calling a child “difficult”. This is super cute and I love that it has a good lesson behind it. I can’t wait to see more from the author.

What a great children’s book. Characters and colors are vibrant and eye catching. Great overall story and message. A must read!

Adorably told through the young eyes of a child and the emotions we all experience at some point in our lives and sometimes don’t know what to do with them.
A sweet, genuine and relatable way to embrace yourself and any emotions that you feel in any type of situation you may be in. Absolutely love Ribbit and hope to read about many more adventures and emotions he may experience ❤️❤️

This was a great book about how nerve wracking it can be at the beginning of the school year. It tells a great story about how Ribbit overcomes those fears and isn’t so nervous anymore. It has a great message and is a must read to ease those back to school jitters for your kiddos!

School Visits

Vencil Brown Elementary School:

This kind-hearted second grader demonstrated the spirit of PBIS by giving the Bear Hug she earned to author Charlie Rapp as a thank-you for reading his book to the class. What a thoughtful gesture!

“Charlie Rapp, author of the Ribbit the Frog series, came to our school for a book reading. He was truly engaging and captivated the attention of the kids! The students loved his story! After reading, he opened it up to a pop quiz and questions. The kids learned so much and shared what they enjoyed about the book.

They asked great questions about how he got the idea for the book and the process of writing a book. I love that he encouraged them all to be creative and follow their dreams, whatever it may be. His book share life lessons and explored friendship, courage, and perseverance. The students can’t wait for him to come back and share more of his stories. Truly an educational and inspiring visit with Mr. Rapp.”

“Charlie came out to our school in August to do an Author visit. He came around and read to each class. It provided some amazing opportunities for the students to get to ask all sorts of questions to him. He was so good about giving all the students an opportunity to ask the questions they had. Charlie was so kind and his interaction with each and every student was amazing. The students were so excited to get to talk with a “real” author. Charlie is so down to earth; it was a great experience. Before coming to our school Charlie was so easy to work with in setting up this visit. He had quick response times and was flexible around the school’s challenging schedule. I would definitely recommend having Charlie do an author visit at your school!”

Charlie’s visit to our school was an unforgettable experience for our students! His book, Ribbit the Frog: Ribbit’s First Day of School, beautifully captures the emotions of starting something new—nervousness, excitement, and ultimately, the joy of discovering confidence and friendship. Charlie’s engaging storytelling and interactive approach truly brought Ribbit’s journey to life, making it easy for our students to relate to and learn from his experience. Our students were captivated, inspired, and left with a newfound excitement for reading and embracing new challenges. We would absolutely love to have Charlie visit again! (and they can’t wait to read his next book!)
